Founder’s Story
“I’m Kelvin, born and raised in Engaresero village, nestled just beneath the sacred Ol Doinyo Lengai – Tanzania’s only active volcano 
. Growing up surrounded by rugged landscapes, Maasai traditions, and the powerful presence of Lengai, I developed a deep love for the mountains and a calling to become a professional guide.
For over nine years, I have dedicated my life to guiding travelers safely through some of Tanzania’s most iconic destinations – from the fiery summit of Ol Doinyo Lengai to the hidden waterfalls of Lake Natron, the dramatic Rift Valley trails, ancient footprints, and the living traditions of the Maasai people.
My journey as a local guide inspired me to create Oletrek – a way to share my passion for trekking, hiking, and climbing with adventurers from around the world. Having explored Tanzania’s most breathtaking peaks, trails, and volcanoes, I wanted to offer travelers experiences that are authentic, safe, and unforgettable, while showcasing the natural beauty and cultural richness of my homeland.
